Na czerwiec tego roku Roger Glover, basista legendarnego zespołu Deep Purple, zapowiedział wydanie swojego kolejnego solowego krążka pt. "If Life Was Easy". Tym razem za mikrofonem, oprócz Randalla Brambletta, stanie również córka basisty - Gillian Glover. Randall Bramblet był wokalistą na ostatnim, jak dotychczas, solowym albumie artysty pt. "Snapshot" z 2002 roku.
Przypomnijmy, że Walijczyk, zastępując w 1970 r. ówczesnego basistę grupy - Nicka Simpera, stworzył, wespół z Ianem Gillanem, Ianem Paice, Ritchie Blackmorem oraz Jonem Lordem, skład (MK2) - określany mianem klasycznego składu Deep Purple, i w którym to składzie zespół nagrał jedne z kultowych albumów w historii rocka "Deep Purple In Rock", "Fireball" czy "Machine Head", zawierające m.in. takie ponadczasowe hity jak "Child In Time", "Fireball" czy "Smoke On The Water".

Ciężko wymienić wszystkie zespoły i projekty w których Roger Glover miał swój udział. Wystarczy wspomnieć tylko, że był członkiem Rainbow oraz brał udział w solowych projektach Jona Lorda czy Iana Gillana. Glover to również producent, który odpowiada za produkcję albumów takich zespołów jak Judas Priest ("Sin After Sin"), Nazareth (m.in. "Razamanaz") czy Elf ("Elf" - pierwszy zespół Ronniego Jamesa Dio).

DEEP PURPLE bassist Roger Glover's new solo album. "If Life Was Easy", is scheduled for release in Europe on July 11 via earMUSIC/Edel. The follow-up to 2002's "Snapshot" was reportedly recorded in 2007 but is only now surfacing. It features Roger's daughter Gillian Glover, with lead vocals by Ronnie Bramblett.

Commented Roger: "This hodgepodge collection of songs reveals or obscures a range of emotions over a turbulent decade; separation, divorce, injustice, uncertainty, new love, escape, fatherhood, grand-fatherhood, emigration, touring and losing my mother are some of the extreme highs and lows during this storm-tossed period. All were written wherever I was living — on a MacPro with ProTools and a few instruments and gadgets — extra musicians were added in the studio as needed.

"By the way, I know that it should be 'If Life Were Easy' — it's a subtle irony.
